Camp eSAIL

Camp eSAIL is repeated each semester. The next Camp eSAIL will be in January 2024. Stay tuned to this page for more details as they become available.

Camp eSAIL is a one-day, professional development event designed to assist Engineering faculty who will be using Canvas, Mediasite, or other educational technology to prepare for the start of the semester. The event includes several features:

  • an open lab where you can bring your own device and get one-on-one assistance for any topic
  • a variety of hands-on workshops on Canvas, Mediasite, Lecture Capture, and teaching tips
  • a tour of the eSAIL Faculty Recording Studios
  • and a complimentary lunch.

Bring your own device to this come-and-go event, which takes place in the eSAIL Office, located on the 4th floor of the Zachry building, Suite 414.

Canvas Quick Tips

Description: This workshop includes demos and hands-on guidance on important steps to set up your courses in Canvas. Topics will include importing a course, setting up your dashboard, and many others.

Using Mediasite

Description: This workshop includes hands-on training to help get your pre-recorded lectures in Mediasite appearing in Canvas for your online students.

Lecture Capture Tips

Description: In this workshop, participants will practice techniques to prepare PowerPoint and other materials in a way that makes it easy to reuse lecture capture recordings and transition to online teaching.

Setting up your Canvas Gradebook

Description: This workshop includes information and hands-on practice on several topics including setting up grading schemes, weighted grades, grade posting policy, assignment groups, creating extra columns, and posting grades to Howdy.
